MLB 2008 Season Opener starts in Tokyo, Japan

On Tuesday, March 25, 2008, the Major League Baseball 2008 Season started in an exhibition game in Tokyo, Japan. The Oakland Athletics played against the defending World Series champions, Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox won the game in 10 innings with a score of 6 to 5.

Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched in front of his Japanese fans in the Tokyo Dome. 24-year-old rookie, Brandon Moss, hits his first homerun to tie the game for the Red Sox in the 9th inning. Manny Ramirez wins the game for the Red Sox with a 2-run double in the top of the 10th inning.

The Basketball Tournament of the best college basketball teams in each College division is also know as “March Madness” because the tournament starts in March. Tournament games can be watched online.
